IPL 2024: Fans react as Glenn Maxwell gets out on a 4-ball duck against MI, registers his third duck of the season

Glenn Maxwell registered his third duck in the ongoing IPL 2024.

Glenn Maxwell of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) just cannot buy runs in this ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He registered a 4-ball duck in the ongoing IPL 2024 match against Mumbai Indians (MI), which is being played at the Wankhede Stadium on April 11, 2024.

MI entered this match fresh off their first win in IPL 2024 following three consecutive losses. On the other hand, RCB have only won one of their five games.

MI skipper Hardik Pandya made the perfect judgment and elected to field first. RCB openers Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli began cautiously against MI opening bowlers Gerald Coetzee and Mohammad Nabi, who delivered the opening over.

Then Jasprit Bumrah got into action and removed Virat Kohli for 3 runs in his first over itself. Will Jacks, who made his RCB debut in this match, made 8 runs before getting out to Akash Madhwal.

Faf du Plessis continued making runs at one end and got support from Rajat Patidar, who hit 50 in 26 balls with 4 sixes and 4 fours before getting out Gerald Coetzee.

Glenn Maxwell continues to fail, scores 0 in 4 balls

Much was talked about and written about the top order of the RCB team and how the failure of Glenn Maxwell is one of the reasons they are placed 9th on the IPL 2024 points table. Maxwell had started his IPL 2024 with a duck against Chennai Super Kings.

He then followed it with 3 against Punjab Kings, and 28 against Kolkata Knight Riders before getting out on another duck against Lucknow Super Giants. In his last match for RCB against Rajasthan Royals, the Australian big-hitter made one run.

Much was expected of him in this match as RCB had to consolidate again after the loss of Rajat Patidar. However, leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal got him out LBW with a quicker delivery.

The fans on social media were extremely agitated as Glenn Maxwell’s failures in IPL 2024 continued and it has impacted the RCB team.
