Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant made a dominating comeback to form in the ongoing game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Rishabh Pant, who failed to score runs in IPL 2025, made sure he finished the league on a high. The Lucknow Super Giants skipper has acted as a nightmare for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans as their team looks to book a berth in Qualifier 1 of the tournament.
After being asked to bat first, Lucknow Super Giants lost debutant Matthew Breetzke early. It was then that skipper Rishabh Pant promoted himself and walked out to bat at three. The move raised many eyebrows because he pushed Nicholas Pooran down the order.
However, he made sure that his decision to bat at three paid off, as he came up with a gigantic effort with the bat. The keeper-batter came out with positive intent and started playing his shots right from the start, putting the opposition under massive pressure.
Rishabh Pant looked pretty confident during his stay at the crease and played some eye-catching shots in his innings. The keeper-batter slammed Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowlers all over the park with ease, dismantling their hopes to play Qualifier 1 with each shot.
After Rishabh Pant slammed a half-century in 29 balls, he didn’t look back and upped his ante. The LSG skipper raced away to his century and achieved the milestone in just 54 balls. This was his second century in the history of the league.
Rishabh Pant ended up playing an unbeaten innings of 118 runs off 61 balls. The keeper-batter batted with a strike rate of over 193 and also slammed 11 boundaries and eight sixes during his stay at the crease. Thanks to his ton, LSG posted a massive total of 227 runs on the board.
