Twitter reacts as Rohit Sharma becomes first batter to hit five centuries in T20I cricket

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma slams his fifth T20I century.
Rohit Sharma had a disappointing comeback against Afghanistan in the first two T20I games of the three-match T20I series. He was dismissed on a duck in both of the first two T20I matches, Rohit had a turnaround of luck in Bengaluru in the final T20I game and slammed his fifth T20I century. He became the first batter to hit five centuries in T20I cricket. Amidst all the chaos and collapse, Rohit Sharma played a brilliant knock to put India on top of Afghanistan at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Before Afghanistan T20I series, Rohit didn’t played a single T20I game after India’s disappointing loss against England in the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Adelaide.
Rohit Sharma’s spectacular 64-ball century
Rohit sharma stood tall amidst the chaos in the powerplay. India lost four wickets in 12 balls in the power play. Yashasvi Jaiswal (4), Virat Kohli (0), Sanju Samson (0) and Shivam Dube (1) perished early. India were reeling under pressure on 22 for 4 in 4.3 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh then stitched a magnificent partnership for the fifth wicket and added unbeaten 190 runs in 95 balls.
Opener Rohit Sharma weathered the storm and went on to complete his century in 64 balls. Rohit scored 121 runs in 69 balls with 11 fours and eight sixes. Rohit played his 150th T20I game in Indore. He also holds the record for most number of T20I centuries for India. Rohit has five T20I centuries in 143 T20I innings. Suryakumar Yadav and Glenn Maxwell are joint second with four centuries.
Rinku Singh also accompanied Rohit Sharma nicely in the partnership and scored 69 runs in 39 balls. Rinku smashed six sixes and two fours in his innings. They both added 36 runs in the final over. India finished their 20 overs at 212 runs and gave Afghanistan a mammoth 213 runs target to chase. Team India have already won the first two matches of the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, and would want to end it 3-0.
