Romario Shepherd smashed 53 runs off 14 balls against CSK.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are hosting Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 52nd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Saturday, May 4. The RCB vs CSK encounter is currently underway at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. RCB lower-order batter Romario Shepherd slammed a quickfire half-century in the match.
Batting at No.7, Shepherd slammed an unbeaten 53 runs off just 14 deliveries during his innings to drive RCB to a mammoth total. The bowling all-rounder slammed four boundaries and six sixes during his knock at a strike rate of 378.5. He sent the home crowd into frenzy with his fabulous finish to RCB’s batting.
RCB reached a powerful total of 213/5 batting first. Earlier, CSK skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to field first. Jacob Bethell (55) and Virat Kohli (62) gave a fabulous start to the batting. RCB lost a few batters cheaply in the middle. Matheesha Pathirana captured the most three wickets for the visitors. Noor Ahmad and Sam Curran got one scalp each.
Romario Shepherd equals record for joint-fastest fifty in IPL
With his quickfire knock, Shepherd has also registered the record for the fastest fifty by a RCB batter and overall second joint fastest fifty in the IPL. His 14-ball fifty stands just behind Yashasvi Jaiswal, who holds the record with a 13-ball fifty.
