Sachin Tendulkar tweeted praising the Indian Armed Forces following Operation Sindoor.

The Indian Armed Forces carried out Operation Sindoor against Pakistan-based terrorists at around midnight on Tuesday, May 6. Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar and other cricketers praised the Indian Army on social media after Operation Sindoor.

The Indian Air Force attacked terrorist bases in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The Indian Government took the step in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. Last month, a group of terrorists based in Pakistan attacked a tourist spot in Pahalgam city in the Kashmir valley.

The terrorists opened fire at innocent people. A total of 26 people died in the attack, including one citizen from Nepal. The incident shook the entire nation, and the Indian government also took some strict actions against Pakistan. For instance, the Indian Government halted the Indus Water treaty, stopped the Wagah-Attari Border, and also launched an attack against the terrorist outfit responsible for the attack.

On Tuesday (6 May) midnight, the Indian armed forces carried out Operation Sindoor. Under Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army conducted raids on a few terrorist hideouts in POJK. Also, the Indian Air Force launched air strikes to attack the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack.

Operation Sindoor made headlines on Wednesday (May 7) morning as the Indian Government revealed the incident in the media. After the event, the Indian cricket fraternity lauded the Indian armed forces on the micro-blogging platform X (formerly Twitter).

Former cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, VVS Laxman, Mohammed Shami, and Yusuf Pathan shared tweets on X to laud the Indian Army for Operation Sindoor. Have a look at some of the tweets below.

Notably, many Indian cricketers had also criticized the terror attack earlier. The Indian Cricket Board paid homage to the victims of the attack during an earlier clash between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Players, match officials, and spectators observed a minute of silence for the victims at the start of the match. In addition, match officials and players wore armbands throughout the match. Commentators paid tribute to the victims during the live broadcast.
