"This is why he is special" Twitter bows down as Suryakumar Yadav's ton helps MI beat SRH by 7 wickets

Suryakumar Yadav’s unbeaten hundred helped Mumbai Indians gain two points in the IPL 2024.
Suryakumar Yadav was the toast of the Mumbai Indians (MI) as the franchise won their fourth match in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. MI and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clashed in the 55th match of the IPL 2024 on May 6, 2024. This encounter was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
MI came into this encounter after a big loss to KKR at home and needed to win to boost themselves as they lay at the bottom of the IPL points table. On the other hand, SRH came into the game after a decent break and having defeated Rajasthan Royals.
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first on a Wankhede pitch that seemed two-paced. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma got off to their usual fiery start, but Sharma got out for 11 runs, after adding 56 runs in 6 overs for the opening wicket.
Travis Head made 48 runs with 7 fours and 1 six and SRH kept losing wickets for not many runs. Mayank Agarwal (5), Heinrich Klaasen (2), Nitish Reddy (20), and Marco Jansen (17) failed to give SRH the runs they needed in the middle overs. It was only thanks to captain Pat Cummins’s brilliant 35 with 2 fours and 2 sixes that Sunrisers managed to put on 173/8 in 20 overs.
For Mumbai, Piyush Chawla (3/33) and Hardik Pandya with 3/31 were the standout bowlers.
Suryakumar Yadav leads Mumbai Indians’ charge after top-order collapse
Mumbai Indians had an even poorer start than SRH in the powerplay as they lost the top three Rohit Sharma (4), Ishan Kishan (9), and Naman Dhir (0) for single-digit scores. However, it was the turn of Suryakumar Yadav to show his magic with the bat and he got support from Tilak Varma.
Tilak Varma made 37* in 32 balls with 6 fours, in a partnership of 143* for the 4th wicket. It was all Suryakumar Yadav at the other end, who first brought up his fifty in 30 balls, and then made terrific acceleration.
Things were sped up by Surya, as he had groin trouble and couldn’t run fast. Hence he decided to hammer sixes and fours and hit a maximum to not only take MI to the win but also score his second IPL century. He remained unbeaten on 102 in 51 balls with 12 fours and 6 sixes.
MI won the match by 7 wickets and moved to the 9th spot in the points table with 8 points from 12 games, but a better NRR than Gujarat Titans. SRH remained at 4th spot with 6 wins from 11 games and 12 points, but their NRR took a hit.
The Twitterverse was crazy as they not only celebrated MI’s victory but were also served a Suryakumar Yadav special in Mumbai.
