All ten franchises will submit their list of retained and released players ahead of IPL 2026 auction on November 15.
The fever for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has already taken over the fans even though the league is still far away. All the franchises have been actively working on the permutations and combinations ahead of the auction.
The mini auction ahead of IPL 2026 is all set to take place on December 15-16 in Abu Dhabi and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave the retention deadline of 15 November to all the franchises to submit their list of retained and released players.
While the teams are yet to submit their lists, some of the teams made full use of the trade window. A lot of trade happened ahead of the retention deadline with the biggest one being the swap between Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja at Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur will also be featuring for new teams in IPL 2026. The trade window was just a hint of what is about to come and with some big names expected to come in the auction, it is expected to be a blockbuster event.
List of all trade deals before IPL 2026 retention deadline

1. Shardul Thakur – LSG to MI – all cash (INR 2 crores)
2. Sherfane Rutherford – GT to MI – all cash (INR 2.6 crores)
3. Sanju Samson – RR to CSK – exchange (INR 18 crores)
4. Ravindra Jadeja – CSK to RR – exchange (INR 14 crores)
5. Sam Curran – CSK to RR – exchange (INR 2.4 crores)
6. Mohammed Shami – SRH to LSG – all cash (INR 11 crores)
7. Mayank Markande – KKR to MI – all cash (INR 30 lakhs)
8. Arjun Tendulkar – MI to LSG – all cash (INR 30 lakhs)
9. Nitish Rana – RR to DC – all cash (INR 4.2 crores)
10. Donovan Ferreira – DC to RR – all cash (INR 1 crore)
Note: The amount mentioned above is salary cap of the respective player. Doesn’t include the trade fee.
