Travis Head has established himself as one of the most destructive batsmen in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He began his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2016 before joining Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2024.
He had his breakout season in 2024, smashing 567 runs in 15 games at a strike rate of over 190. He formed a formidable opening duo with Abhishek Sharma and even helped the franchise register the highest total in tournament history – 287 against RCB.

5. 67 vs Rajasthan Royals, 2025, Hyderabad
Travis Head was at his best against Rajasthan Royals in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s first game of the IPL 2025 season in Hyderabad.
After being asked to bat first in the afternoon game, Head gave SRH a flying start by smashing 67 off 31 balls, hitting nine fours and three sixes. His fireworks helped the franchise score more than 90 runs in the first six overs. Later, SRH went on to post 286/6, which is the second highest total in the history of IPL.
4. 75* vs Kolkata Knight Riders, 2017, Bengaluru
Next on the list is an innings the South Australian played in RCB colours at the Chinnaswamy Stadium against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017.
Batting first, Head helped the home team recover from an early collapse at 34/3 to post a respectable total of 158/6. The southpaw remained unbeaten on 75 off 47 balls, hitting three fours and five sixes.
Despite Head’s brilliance, RCB lost the game by six wickets with 29 balls to spare.
3. 89 vs Delhi Capitals, 2024, Delhi
Head played a terrific knock of 89 runs against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi during IPL 2024. Batting first, SRH made 266/7 on the back of Head’s 89 off 32 balls, which included 11 fours and six sixes.
Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen provided late fireworks with their knocks of 59 and 37 runs, propelling the team to a mammoth total of 266/7.
Head was named Player of the Match in SRH’s 67-run win.
2. 89* vs Lucknow Super Giants, 2024, Hyderabad
SRH’s match against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024 in Hyderabad is remembered for the destructive partnership of Head and Abhishek Sharma, which helped the team register a historic run chase of 166 runs inside 10 overs.
In an extraordinary display of power hitting, Head smashed an unbeaten 89 off just 30 balls, including eight fours and eight sixes. The onslaught from Abhishek at the other end, which included 14 boundaries, ensured the home side won the game by 10 wickets.

Travis Head registered his highest IPL score of 109 during the 30th match of IPL 2024, playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Bengaluru.
After being asked to bat first, SRH posted the highest total in IPL history – 287/3 on the back of Head’s stunning century, which included nine fours and eight sixes. He built a 108-run partnership with opener Abhishek Sharma which laid the foundation of a big score.
SRH ultimately won the game by 25 runs and Head was named Player of the Match for his century.
