Trent Boult equals Bhuvneshwar Kumar's record of bowling most first-over maidens in the IPL
Rajasthan Royals' fast bowler Trent Boult has equaled Bhuvneshwar Kumar's all-time IPL record.
Rajasthan Royals pacer Trent Boult is bowling in a different zone in the IPL 2023. In his 5th game for RR this season, he bowled his 3rd first over maiden on Wednesday against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur. KL Rahul could not score even a single run against Trent Boult in the first over of the game. Boult is bowing in some good rhythm. Boult had already bowled two double wicket maiden first overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals earlier this season. He has troubled every batter with his brutal in-swingers. With a maiden over against Lucknow Super Giants he has also equaled a record.
Kiwi pacer has now equaled the number of bowling most first over maidens in the Indian Premier League. Boult has equaled Bhuvneshwar Kumar in terms of bowling first over maiden. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Trent Boult have bowled 8 first over maidens in this league. While another swing bowler Praveen Kumar is second on this list with 7 first over maidens. All three of them are known for picking up early wickets for their respective teams. Swing has always been a trouble for any batter to tackle.
Trent Boult is using his in-swing nicely in the IPL. Guwahati’s weather also helped him to give the opposition early blows. Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium’s wickets are also a little pacy, so he will get the reward of his full length in-swingers here as well. Boult in his first two overs conceded only 2 runs. He troubled both, KL Rahul, and Kyle Mayers. Due to a fiery spell, Lucknow Super Giants have started cautiously against Rajasthan Royals. Trent Boult has picked up 6 wickets in the IPL 2023.
