Tushar Deshpande shuts down a Twitter troll after he calls him "RunMachine"
Tushar Deshpande is Chennai Super Kings' leading wicket taker in IPL 2023 with 21 wickets in 15 matches at an economy of 9.77.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler Tushar Deshpande has given a befitting reply to a fan on social media who was critiquing his economy in the IPL 2023 and called him a ‘run machine’. The Mumbai bowler has been a revelation for the 4-time champions this season.
In 15 matches, Tushar Deshpande has 21 wickets to his name at an economy of 9.77 and an average of 24.19. His best bowling performance has been 3/45.
MS Dhoni showed great faith in Deshpande who became CSK’s main bowler after injuries to Mukesh Choudhary and Kyle Jamieson ruled them out of the IPL 2023 even before the season began. Though his economy of 9.61 isn’t ideal and needs improvement, it should be noted that he’s bowled mostly in the powerplay and in the death overs, and the tournament has been on the batting-friendly side.
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings reached their 10th IPL final with a thrilling victory over Gujarat Titans at the Chepauk by 15 runs in Qualifier 1.
Asked to bat first, CSK posted 172/7 in 20 overs with their openers, Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad, the pair putting up 87 runs in 10.3 overs. Gaikwad scored 60 runs while Conway scored 40, while Ajinkya Rahane (17), Ambati Rayudu (17), and Ravindra Jadeja (22) played cameos.
In response, GT only managed 157 runs with Shubman Gill top-scoring with 46 and Rashid Khan making 30 runs, as they lost by 15 runs.
“I bet you can’t even cross the boundary rope”- Tushar Deshpande schools a fan on trolling him
MS Dhoni used five bowlers on the night and Tushar Deshpande was the most expensive of them, leaking 43 runs, although he took the important wicket of Rashid Khan, who had kept the fight alive for Gujarat Titans.
This led to a fan sharing the bowling stats of CSK and posting in Telugu: “Prathi match lo minimum 40 Runs isthadu ra veedu orey 😭😭 RunMachine 😭@TusharD_96 @ChennaiIPL” which translates to “He concedes minimum 40 runs in every match, RunMachine."
To this, the triggered CSK seamer who shot back at the troll and posted: “Comment Only if you have the guts to step on to the field as a player yourself I bet you can’t even cross the Boundry rope.”
