Twitter reacts as Australia beat India in the final to become ICC World Test Champions
Chasing 444, India bundled out on 234 runs against Australia and have lost yet another ICC tournament finals.
Australia have decimated India in the World Test Championship Final at The Oval. Now, Australia have become the only team to win the ICC Trophy in each format of cricket along with the Champions Trophy. Australia have thrashed India by 209 runs in the WTC 2023 Final. This is India’s second consecutive loss in the World Test Championship Finals, earlier they lost to New Zealand in the WTC 2021 Final in Southampton. In a full five-day long test, Australia kept control of the game most of the time. Indian batters struggled against Australian pacers. India went into the game with 4 pacers and a lone spinner as Ravindra Jadeja and dropped Ravi Ashwin which backfired for them in the game.
It was Travis Head and Steve Smith’s centuries that put Australia in firm control on the first day itself. From there, Australia kept dominating India in all five days in every aspect of the game. After another in the big game, Indian fans have questioned the batting lineup approach. Indian batters have failed to live up to the expectations. The top 4 batters have failed to score a half-century in the game. Fans were surprised by the way batters have thrown their wickets in the game. India’s wait for another ICC trophy has been extended, they have failed to win an ICC trophy after the 2013 Champions Trophy.
Here's how twitter reacted to Australia's win over India in the ICC WTC final:
There were reactions against Team India coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma’s decision-making. Team India dropped their leading wicket-taker Ravichandran Ashwin for the big final and this became a huge debate among the fans on social media and even among the experts and former cricketers. Fans also missed Rishabh Pant in the playing XI, Pant is out of the action due to a massive accident he faced in December 2022.
