Harry Brook had scores of 13, 3, and 13 in the previous three games in IPL 2023.

Harry Brook justified his INR 13.25 crore price tag for which Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bought him in the IPL 2023, as after struggling initially in the tournament against quality spin, he scored his maiden IPL hundred for the franchise against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 14, 2023, in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

In the 19th match of the IPL 2023, KKR hosted SRH in their own home of Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 14, 2023. KKR captain Nitish Rana won the toss and chose to bowl first, going in with an unchanged team.

SRH, on the other hand, brought in Abhishek Sharma for Washington Sundar.

KKR started well with Andre Russell getting the wickets of Mayank Agarwal for 9 runs and then accounted for the dangerous Rahul Tripathi who made 9 runs as well, hitting two boundaries, in his first over itself.

Despite losing two early wickets, Harry Brook finally showed why he got such a huge amount in the IPL 2023 auction, scoring his maiden IPL fifty in 32 balls, while captain Aiden Markram reached the mark in just 25 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 2 fours.

While Markram got out to Varun Chakravarthy for 50 in 26 balls, and then Brooks was joined by Abhishek Sharma. Despite batting out of position, Abhishek managed 32 in 17 with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

On the other hand, Harry Brook, who had scores of 13, 3 and 13 in his previous three IPL games, continued to pummel KKR bowlers on his own will. Despite running out of gas towards the end of the innings, Brook managed to complete his maiden IPL century for SRH in just 55 balls hitting 12 fours and 3 sixes.

In the end, KKR finished on 228/4 in 20 overs and Twitterverse lauded Harry Brook for his astonishing innings.
