The much-awaited announcement has been made, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the schedule of ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Just like the last edition, the upcoming edition will be a bigger one as a total of 20 teams across the globe will be taking part in it.
One of the hosts of the tournament, India, who won the 2024 edition by beating South Africa in the final, will defend their title. In the first round, teams have been divided into four groups of five teams each. The top two teams from all groups will qualify for the Super Eight round. Then two groups will see competition between four teams each.
Eventually, two teams from both groups will compete in the semi-finals, followed by the final. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) have qualified for the tournament, and it will be their third appearance overall. Before this they made it to the 2014 and 2022 editions, finishing in the group stage. They have played six games in ICC T20 World Cup history and have one win.
