Umesh Yadav to join Essex County team for three first class games in September

This will be Umesh Yadav’s second season in the English county cricket.
Umesh Yadav has signed a deal with the Essex County Cricket Club for their last three county championship games. Umesh Yadav will be leaving for England and join the Essex squad soon as their county championship campaign is set to resume on 4th September. This will be Umesh Yadav’s second stint in County cricket, as he was part of the Middlesex squad in the last season. He will be replacing Kiwi all-rounder Doug Bracewell who got injured and flew back to New Zealand before finishing off his county campaign.
Umesh Yadav pleased to join Essex
In a statement released by Essex County Cricket Club, Indian pacer Umesh Yadav has expressed his pleasure to join the county setup. Umesh Yadav said, “I am pleased to join Essex and make what I hope will be some valuable contribution to the team’s success this year. I enjoyed playing in England with Middlesex last season, and it will be good to return and test myself in those conditions again.” Umesh Yadav will be a value addition for Essex as he has been a superb performer in the red-ball format.
Essex County Cricket Club head coach Anthony McGrath also said that Umesh joining the team will be a great addition. McGrath said, “Umesh is a superb signing for us, and we all know what he will be able to bring to our attack at a crucial time of the season. He is vastly experienced and has taken wickets at the top levels of the game for more than a decade now, so as well as contributing during our run-in, we hope he can pass on some of his wisdom to our young players too.”
Umesh Yadav joined the Middlesex County team last season and played 3 games. His season was cut short due to an injury and he had to come back home in mid of the season. Essex are currently second in the County Championship Division One table with 23 points behind Surrey. Umesh will possibly be making his debut for Essex against his old county side Middlesex on 4th September at County Cricket Ground in Chelmsford. Umesh hasn’t played any cricket since the WTC Final 2023 against Australia.
