5 uncapped Indian cricketers who could make international debut in 2026

A few Indian players impressed with their performances in domestic cricket last year.

Representing the Indian Cricket Team is the ultimate dream of millions of young players; however, a handful of lucky and brilliant players get this rare opportunity. Also, they have to toil hard in domestic cricket for many years to grab a spot in the national team.

Every year, a few fresh faces make their international debut for India. While some of them manage to cement their spots, many others vanish after a few appearances.

A few others also make headlines with their performances in various domestic tournaments every year, justifying their selection into the national team.

Last year, some uncapped Indian players impressed with their spectacular performances and may soon receive the selectors’ nod to represent India. On that note, below are five uncapped Indian stars who could make their international debut in 2026.

Although part of the India squad in some test series, Abhimanyu Easwaran has yet to make his international debut. He was also part of India’s squad for the England test series last year; however, he could not get a chance to play in any of the five games.

Following India’s struggles in the Test series against South Africa at home, some new faces might get a chance in the longest format of the game in 2026. Easwaran, who has scored over 8000 runs in first-class cricket with an average of over 47, deserves the opportunity to make his long-awaited Test debut.

4. Vipraj Nigam

Vipraj Nigam is a leg spinner who represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025, the leg spinner finished as UP’s highest wicket-taker with 13 scalps in seven games.

The 21-year-old spinner has also impressed with his performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26 in the opening games, clinching nine wickets in the first four matches.

Right-arm pacer Vaibhav Arora has made a mark in the last two IPL tournaments, where he plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He was part of the pace unit that helped KKR to win the title in the 2024 season.

In IPL 2025, he became the joint-highest wicket-taker for KKR, taking 17 wickets in 12 matches. With his stellar show in back-to-back IPL seasons, he might make his international debut this year.

The 34-year-old batter has piled up more than 350 runs in the last two IPL seasons at a strike rate of over 150. Therefore, selectors might try him in the shortest format in 2026.
