Deepti Sharma had a base price of Rs. 50 lakhs in WPL 2026 mega auction.

Indian Women Cricket Team all-rounder Deepti Sharma was roped in by the UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 mega auction. The franchise utilised the Right to Match (RTM) card to acquire the spin bowling all-rounder into their squad.

Sharma was a member of the marquee list, which comprised several top international and Indian players. She had a base price of Rs. 50 lakh in WPL 2026 auction, which got underway in Delhi on Thursday, November 27.

Warriorz released Deepti from their squad ahead of WPL 2026 auction but did not shy away from spending a huge amount to buy her back into their team. Her bid started at Rs. 50 lakh and Delhi Capitals (DC) and were the only team to bid for her.

As she was about to get sold to DC, UPW immediately used the RTM to match DC’s bidding price. As DC increased their price to Rs. 3.2 crore, UPW matched it once again. Eventually, Deepti became part of UPW via RTM.

Notably, the Indian all-rounder was in the spotlight ahead of WPL 2026 auction following her spectacular performances in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. In the final against South Africa Women, she hammered a half-century and picked a five-wicket haul to play a crucial role in India’s victory. She was also adjudged Player of the Tournament.

In WPL 2025, she was appointed UP Warriorz captain after Alyssa Healy was ruled out due to injury. The team struggled under her captaincy and could not qualify for the playoffs. With just three wins and five defeats across eight games, UP Warriorz finished in the last spot in the points table with six points.
