UP Warriorz bought back Deepti Sharma at the auction.

UP Warriorz emerged as the biggest spenders in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 mega auction. They made the most expensive buy of the mega auction by using the Right to Match (RTM) card for Deepti Sharma, matching Delhi Capitals’ price tag of INR 3.20 crores.

Deepti Sharma became the second most expensive player in the history of the WPL after Smriti Mandhana. The all-rounder was the Player of the Tournament in the recently-concluded ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, which India won.

The Warriorz have also added the experience of Meg Lanning and Shikha Pandey for 1.90 crores and 2.40 crores, respectively. Both of them played for Delhi Capitals last season. Lanning has led Delhi to three WPL finals and can take charge of the Warriorz in the upcoming season.

Other major buys include Australia’s prodigy Phoebe Litchfield, Sophie Ecclestone, Deandra Dottin and Asha Shobhana. Litchfield and Shobhana went for a price tag north of 1 crore, but the Warriorz had a bargain for Sophie Ecclestone and Deandra Dottin, getting them under 1 crore.

Pratika Rawal, one of the prominent members of the India’s World Cup-winning squad, will have her teammate Harleen Deol joining forces. They have been bought for their base price of 50 Lakhs.
