The third ENG vs IND ODI will be held at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday.

The three-match ODI series between England and India is evenly poised at 1-1 with both teams having won one game each. India started the series with a six-wicket win in the first game in Birmingham, while England made a remarkable comeback.

They beat India in the second game in Cardiff by four wickets to level the series. It has been a tough tour for Men in Blue, where they lost to Ireland and then suffered whitewash in T20Is at the hands of England. They looked good in the first ODI but failed to execute their plans in the second game.

The series is on the line, and the Shubman Gill-led side will feel the pressure of expectations. However, ahead of the third ODI, India suffered a big blow when all-rounder Washington Sundar was ruled out due to a hamstring injury. Sundar sustained the injury during the second ODI and didn’t take the field.

The team management has confirmed Sundar’s unavailability for the final ODI as the all-rounder. That will surely impact team combination going into the series decider on Sunday.

Sundar has been a key part of India’s plan across formats and played a key role in the first ODI with his unbeaten 52. He hit the six to take India to win. With the ball, he has only bowled four overs in the series.

With Sundar being out of last game, Kuldeep Yadav, as per the reports in News 18, will get a chance in the playing XI. The wrist spinner is a proven wicket-taker in the middle overs.

The visitors lacked the ability to take wickets in middle overs in the first two ODIs. The seamers have taken wickets in the powerplay, but the finger spinners have not been very effective. In two games, they have taken only three wickets between overs 20 and 40.

That is where England have been good. Kuldeep’s inclusion will add variations to the bowling attack. Though Lord’s is known for offering pace-friendly wickets, but as seen in recent matches during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, spinners have also had good grip due to dry wickets because of humid weather conditions.

When will the third ODI of the India tour of England 2026 take place?
