Jasprit Bumrah got injured in the second ENG vs IND ODI.
After the England tour, India’s focus is slowly shifting from white-ball cricket to the longest form as the team prepares for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. India lost the T20I series 4-0 against England as batting collapsed, while the ODI series went slightly better, with Men in Blue winning one and losing two games.
The upcoming SL vs IND Test series is an important one for the India in the context of ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle. After having a disappointing home Test series defeat against South Africa, the Shubman Gill-led side will be looking to bounce back strongly in red-ball cricket.
Although, the Zimbabwe series is around the corner with a younger squad and VVS Laxman as head coach. But the team management is also looking seriously at the Test series against Sri Lanka in August.
Among all of this, the biggest concern is Jasprit Bumrah’s availability in the upcoming series. The star pacer missed India’s one-off Test against Afghanistan after being rested. He made his return in the ODI series against England but got injured in the second ODI, which forced him to miss the third match.
Jasprit Bumrah fit for Sri Lanka Test series – Reports

According to the reports from the Times of India, Jasprit Bumrah is fit and will be there in the Indian squad for the upcoming two-match series against Sri Lanka.
Along with Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj is also expected to retain his place in the squad. Prasidh Krishna and Gurnoor Brar are likely to compete for a spot in India’s fast bowling unit for the Sri Lankan series.
The conditions in Sri Lanka are expected to help the spinners, but quality fast bowlers have often made a difference with the new ball and reverse swing later in the innings. Therefore, the team management wants to have a strong bowling attack as India look to improve their position in the WTC standings.
Ravindra Jadeja also set for a comeback

Ravindra Jadeja was rested for the Afghanistan Test but is likely to return as India’s first-choice spin-bowling all-rounder. Jadeja’s experience with both the bat and ball could prove crucial in Sri Lankan conditions where spin traditionally plays a major role.
The Sri Lankan series could play an important role in India’s journey in the current ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Cycle. With Bumrah and Jadeja likely to return together, the visitors may head into the series with one of their strongest bowling attacks.
Will Jasprit Bumrah play in the Sri Lanka vs India test series?
Yes, Jasprit Bumrah is expected to return to India’s Test squad for the two-match against Sri Lanka.
