Major update on Mumbai Indians' playing 11 for PBKS vs MI clash of IPL 2026

The PBKS vs MI match will take place on May 14 in Dharamsala.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to square off in the 58th match of the Indian Premier League 2026 tonight. The encounter will take place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.
Shreyas Iyer & Co. have lost four consecutive games and aim for a big comeback against Mumbai. A victory in tonight’s clash will send them closer to a playoffs berth. PBKS have won six and lost four out of 11 games so far. With 13 points, they grab the fourth spot in the points table.
On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians have won just three and lost eight out of 11 games so far. They have been eliminated from the tournament and are placed ninth in the points table.
Notably, MI’s regular captain Hardik Pandya was absent from the previous two games due to a back spasm. Suryakumar Yadav led the team in his absence. However, both of them are expected to miss tonight’s clash against PBKS.

According to Cricbuzz’s report, Hardik and Surya will miss tonight’s clash against the Punjab Kings. Neither of them has reached Dharamsala yet.
In their absence, Jasprit Bumrah and Tilak Varma might captain the side in the encounter. Former captain Rohit Sharma is part of the side; however, it is unlikely that he will be asked to lead the team.
Hardik is recovering from back spasms and has stayed back in Mumbai, where he is undergoing rehabilitation. On the other hand, Surya was recently blessed with a baby girl and would miss the game to spend time with his family.
