Nitish Kumar Reddy has been picked in Indian squad for Afghanistan T20Is subject to his fitness.
India are set to host Afghanistan for a three-match T20I series in Delhi from September 13, with the team management keeping a close eye on the fitness of several key players. The series will be an important part of India’s preparations ahead of the Asian Games 2026 later this month.
The biggest focus has been on players returning from injury, with Jasprit Bumrah, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana among those being closely monitored by the BCCI medical team. While Bumrah and Reddy have been progressing well, Rana’s recovery has taken longer than expected.
Nitish Kumar Reddy has been waiting for the final clearance after missing India’s recent white-ball assignments due to a left quadriceps injury. He got injured during the ODI series against Afghanistan in June and has since been working on recovery.
