Major update on Phil Salt's injury ahead of DC vs RCB clash of IPL 2026

Phil Salt did not play in RCB’s previous game due to injury.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to face Delhi Capitals (DC) in their next match of the Indian Premier League 2026. They recently suffered a major setback as star opener Phil Salt sustained an injury and did not play in the previous game against the Gujarat Titans (GT).

Salt and Virat Kohli were utilised as openers since the start of IPL 2026. Both of them provided quickfire starts with their aggressive batting show.

Salt lost his wicket for single digits in a few games but hammered half-centuries against the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI). The right-handed batsman also scored a crucial 46-run knock against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Unfortunately, he sustained an injury during the net sessions and missed the previous game against GT. In his absence, his countryman Jacob Bethell opened the batting with Kohli for RCB.
