Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has earned his national call-up in the IND vs IRE T20I series.
Young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is all set to represent the Indian Cricket Team for the first time in the upcoming T20I series against Ireland. The two encounters will take place on June 26 and 28, respectively.
After the Ireland tour, Soorayavanshi will also feature in T20I series against England next month. Both teams are set to clash in five T20I games, which will be followed by a three-match ODI series.
The buzz around Sooryavanshi’s debut is very high as he has impressed with his performances at the domestic level and junior Indian teams. He is highly expected to get opportunities in the Ireland series. If he plays in the opening game, he will become the youngest Indian player to make an international debut.
Sooryavanshi was at his best in IPL 2026 for Rajasthan Royals (RR). The left-handed batsman finished as the leading run-scorer with 776 runs and won the Orange Cap, and also was crowned as the Most Valuable Player of the Season.
Following his impeccable show in IPL 2026, domestic cricket, and the junior Indian team since the start of 2026, selectors had no choice but to give him a chance in the national team.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to make his international debut in IND vs IRE 1st T20I- Reports
According to a report by journalist Ankan Karan of Times Network, Sooryavanshi will make his debut in the 1st T20I against Ireland.
The report added that he is expected open batting with Sanju Samson, while Ishan Kishan will bat at number three. Shreyas Iyer, who will commence his captaincy stint in the series, will take the number four batting slot.
Earlier this year, Sooryavanshi played a crucial role in India’s U-19’s title-winning campaign in the Under-19 ODI World Cup 2026.
He scored a quickfire century in the final against England to bag the Player of the Match award and lead the team to a big victory. Recently, he also slammed a match-winning half-century for India A in the Tri-Nation Series 2026 final against Sri Lanka A.
