Mumbai Indians (MI) have missed the services of their star all-rounder Will Jacks in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 so far. The England all-rounder is yet to join the MI squad in the tournament.
Jacks was retained by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2026. Due to a busy international schedule ahead of IPL 2026, he asked for an extended break to spend time with his family.
Ahead of the IPL 2026, Jacks played for England in The Ashes 2025-26, which concluded in January. He was also part of England’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. Later, he played in T20 World Cup 2026, where England made it to the semi-finals.
Jacks was a stand-out performer for England in the T20 World Cup, winning 4 Player of the Match awards. He also played a crucial role in England’s three victories in the Super Eight Round.

Jacks is expected to join the MI squad for IPL 2026 later this week. It will be a big boost for the five-time champions, who have witnessed a poor start in the tournament.
The Hardik Pandya & Co. have won just one game and lost three out of four so far. With two points, they languish in the ninth spot in the points table. In the previous clash, they lost to RCB by 18 runs at their home ground.
They will next clash with Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 16 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. However, Jacks is expected to miss that game as well. Moreover, Rohit Sharma is also expected to miss the clash due to a hamstring injury.
