The Cricket World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place in India between October and November. The tournament will have ten teams competing against each other in a robin-round format and a total of 48 games in the tournament. The tournament will start with a game between the finalists of the last edition, England and New Zealand on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, while the final will take place on November 19 in Ahmedabad.

Eight teams made it to the Cricket World Cup 2023 after qualifying directly through the Super League stage. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka and Netherlands made it to the tournament after ending the ICC CWC Qualifier 2023 in the top two positions. Sri Lanka beat Netherlands in the final to win the CWC Qualifier 2023, and both teams made it to the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023. This has made the schedule very clear. Sri Lanka will start their campaign on October 7 with a match against South Africa in Delhi, while Netherlands will play their first game against Pakistan on October 6.

Important Details to know for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup

England will enter as the defending champions. The tournament's opener will be a rematch of the last edition's final between England and New Zealand. The much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Ten teams will play one match each against the remaining nine teams. The top four teams will make it to the semi-finals of the tournament.

The first semi-final is scheduled to take place on November 15 at the Wankhede Stadium, while the second will take place at the Eden Gardens on November 16. India won the World Cup when they co-hosted it last time. However, this will be the first time that they will host the entire tournament in India itself. This tournament will be played across ten different venues in India. Delhi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Bengaluru, Dharamsala, and Hyderabad are the shortlisted venues to host games in the tournament.

The warm-up matches are scheduled to take place between September 29 and October 3, and these games will be hosted in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram. Most of the games will be day-night games, including the knockouts, starting at 2 p.m. IST. On the other hand, six games will be played in double headers on weekends, where the first match will start at 10:30 a.m.
