The United States of America’s (USA) cricket team has made it to the Super Eight round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which they are co-hosting with the West Indies. This is a huge achievement in their cricket history as their success in this tournament will promote cricket in the country.

The Monank Patel-led side started the tournament with a successful run-chase of a big target of 195 against Canada. Then came the victory which has been hailed as the greatest moment in USA’s cricket history: a win over Pakistan in the Super Over.

They then lost to India, though not without making the Asian giants sweat in a small run-chase. Their wash-out against Ireland earned them the point that sealed their qualification to the next round.

Who are USA’s opponents in Super 8?

USA are placed in Group 2 of the Super Eight round. They will face England, South Africa and the West Indies.

In the Super Eight round, Monank Patel’s side will first take on South Africa on June 19. Then they will meet West Indies on June 21, followed by a clash with England on June 23.
