Pakistan spinner Usama Mir injured his finger while stopping a pull shot by Litton Das.

Pakistani spinner Usama Mir suffered a bloody cut to his pinky finger of his right hand as he tried to stop a shot by Bangladesh’s Litton Das. This happened during the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between the two sides being played in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on October 31, 2023.

When it comes to possibilities for semi-final qualification, Pakistan and Bangladesh are in the same boat.

Pakistan have 4 points from two wins in six matches, whereas Bangladesh have earned only one win in six matches. Both are effectively eliminated from contention for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 knockout stages.

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss, he chose to bat first. Bangladesh made one change, with Mahedi Hasan being replaced in the XI by Towhid Hridoy. Pakistan, on the other hand, made three modifications. Imam Ul Haq, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Nawaz were all dropped off the list.

Fakhar Zaman, Agha Salman, and Usama Mir were chosen in their stead.

Usama Mir injures his finger trying to stop a Litton Das pull

Pakistani spinner Usama Mir suffered a finger injury to his bowling hand in the ongoing Pakistan vs Bangladesh World Cup 2023 match, taking place at the Eden Gardens.

The incident occurred during Shaheen Afridi's seventh over. Afridi bowled a bouncer on the fourth delivery, and Litton Das pulled it viciously. The ball came close to Usama Mir, who was stationed near mid-wicket. Litton timed the shot well, but Mir sliced his little finger trying to reach for it.

He looked in agonising pain as blood could be seen coming from his finger. Eventually, the Pakistani spinner went off the field as a precautionary measure.
