Usman Khawaja 'really disappointed' by MCC members' behaviour on 5th day

Usman Khawaja was found exchanging few words with MCC members on final day of the Lord's test.
Australian opening batter Usman Khawaja has termed the unruly long-room behaviour of MCC members as disappointing. Usman Khawaja was seen giving it back to one member booing and abusing the Australian players when they walked back to the dressing room for lunch after Bairstow’s controversial dismissal. Both Australian opener, Usman Khawaja and David Warner were found exchanging a few words, and security personnel had to come in and intervene to stop the scuffle. Lord’s crowd behaved also hostile to Australian team members on the final day after Jonny Bairstow suffered a brain fade dismissal on the final day. Birstow’s wicket made a huge impact on England's 371-run chase at The Lord’s.
Usman Khawaja 'really disappointed'
Talking about the incident Usman Khawaja commented, “It was really disappointing… Lord’s is one of my favourite places to come to. There’s always respect shown at Lord’s, particularly in the member's pavilion in the long room. But there wasn’t today. It was very disappointing. If anyone asks me where the best place is to play I always say Lord’s. The crowd is great, particularly the members are great, and some of the stuff that was coming out of the member's mouth was really disappointing and I wasn’t just going to stand by and cop it. So I just talked to a few of them. A few of them were throwing big allegations and I just called them up on it”.
Jonny Bairstow’s brain fade while batting became the biggest flashpoint in the 2nd Ashes test. MCC had to suspend three of the members for their unruly behaviour with Australian team members. MCC also apologised for their behaviour on the final day. While the Lord’s crowd was questioning the Australian’s spirit of the game, former England players came out in support of Alex Carey. Eoin Morgan termed Carey’s work behind the stump as ‘Smart work’ to dismiss Jonny Bairstow on air during commentary.
