Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was forced to leave with the physio during the RR vs SRH clash.

Match 36 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is underway at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Australian bowler Pat Cummins made his return for the SRH after missing the initial seven matches of the tournament due to a back injury. The 32-year-old recently received Cricket Australia’s mandatory clearance to play in the IPL. Cummins also took over the captaincy from Ishan Kishan, who led the team in the initial games.

Facing RR in Jaipur, SRH won the toss, and they decided to bat first. Yashasvi Jaiswal lost his wicket early; however, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel put on 112 runs and helped the inaugural champions reach 228.

Sooryavanshi scored a century in 36 deliveries before being dismissed by Sakib Hussain, while Jurel scored 51 runs off 37 balls. Meanwhile, the 15-year-old also became the first uncapped Indian player to score two centuries in the IPL. However, Sooryavanshi’s day suffered a blow as he was seen limping off the pitch at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Bad news has come for the RR as their star player, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, suffered a hamstring injury during the team’s clash against SRH in IPL 2026.

The 15-year-old, who smashed the third fastest century in the history of the IPL in the first innings of the clash, was subbed off from the field due to a hamstring issue. Sooryavanshi was in tears as he was forced to leave the pitch.

The physio from RR‘s side was quickly called on the ground, as the inaugural champions are not willing to take any risk with the fitness of the 15-year-old, who has played fearless cricket for the franchise.

Sooryavanshi has scored 357 runs in eight matches for RR this season, with a strike rate of 234.86 and an average of 44.62. The 15-year-old’s ability to hit big shots against new as well as seasoned bowlers has solidified his identity as one of the most talented and fearless batters in the Indian talent pool. However, the magnitude of his injury will only be known after further scans.
