After ODIs, Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashes blistering century in 1st Youth test against Australia U19

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has scored the second-fastest century in Youth test history.
India Under-19 team are locking horns with Australia Under-19 team in a Youth test series. The first game between the teams is underway at Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane and young Indian opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi stole the limelight with his heroics with his batting.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi smacked a marvellous century in the first Youth test game on Wednesday, October 1. The left-hander gave an outstanding performance with the bat, scoring 113 runs off 86 balls in the first innings. He also hammered nine boundaries and eight sixes.
Reaching his ton in just 78 deliveries, he has slammed the second-fastest ton in Youth test history. India U19 captain Ayush Mhatre holds the record for his fastest century with his 64-ball ton against England U19 earlier this year.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi becomes the youngest batter to score Youth test century in Australia

Suryavanshi has also become the youngest player to score a Youth test century on Australian soil at the age of 14 years and 188 days. He broke the previous record set by Australia’s Liam Blackford in 2023.
Recently, during the three-match Youth ODI series against Australia U19, the left-handed batsman scripted the record for most sixes in Youth ODI history. Notably, India U19 grabbed a 3-0 whitewash in the series.
Speaking about India U19 vs Australia U19 1st Youth test, the hosts won the toss and opted to bat first. With a half-century by Steven Hogan (92), Australia piled up 243/10 in the first innings. Deepesh Devendran clinched a fabulous five-wicket haul for India, while Kishan Kumar clinched three wickets.
With centuries by Suryavanshi (113) and Vedant Trivedi (140), India were bowled out for 428 runs in the first innings, earning a lead of 185 runs. Both teams will clash in two Youth tests during the campaign.
