Vaibhav Suryavanshi is the youngest to debut in Indian domestic cricket.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi caused a stir in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction held in November 2024 as he became the youngest player to be signed for the tournament at 13 years old. Rajasthan Royals secured his services for INR 1.1 crore, significantly exceeding his base price of INR 30 lakh.

Rajasthan Royals faced Gujarat Titans on April 28, 2025, in Jaipur, where they were tasked to chase a challenging target of 210 runs. With amazing patience and confidence, Suryavanshi smashed a half-century in 17 balls and then scored his maiden IPL century in just 35 balls.

Suryavanshi’s explosive innings and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten 70-run helped Rajasthan Royals win by six wickets over Gujarat Titans.

At just 14 years old, Suryavanshi etched his name into the record books as the youngest player in IPL history—and, more broadly, the youngest ever to score a century in men’s T20 cricket. His ton, achieved in a mere 35 balls, was the second-fastest in IPL history, trailing only Chris Gayle’s 30-ball record, and it became the fastest century by an Indian player in the tournament.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi represents which state in Indian domestic cricket?

Vaibhav Suryavanshi hails from Bihar, where he received expert coaching from Ranji cricketer Manish Ojha at a cricket academy in Samastipur. With his coach’s guidance, Suryavanshi quickly made a name for himself in Bihar’s age-group cricket scene.

In January 2024, at just 12 years and 284 days old, he made his first-class debut for Bihar, becoming one of the youngest players ever to compete at this level in Indian cricket. Further cementing his place in history, he also became the youngest Indian to make a List A debut.

His explosive performances in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy and the Under-19 quadrangular series, particularly a sensational 58-ball century against Australia U-19, solidified his reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in Indian cricket.

So far, he has played 5 FC matches, 6 List-A matches, and 4 T20 games, scoring 100, 132, and 164 runs respectively.
