"I don't pay attention..."- Vaibhav Suryavanshi denies reacting to surpassing Virat Kohli in most-searched Indian personality list

Vaibhav Suryavanshi said that he feels good about such developments and then moves on.
Indian U19 Cricket Team youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi recently became the most-searched Indian personality on Google searches in 2025, surpassing legend Virat Kohli. Speaking over the development, the 14-year-old said that he doesn’t pay attention to such things and tries to focus on his game.
The left-handed batter grabbed a lot of limelight with his marvellous batting show in the opening game against United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the ongoing U19 Asia Cup 2025, smacking a 171-run knock to propel the team to a big victory. In the lead-up to his century, he broke multiple batting records.
For instance, he scripted the record for hitting the most sixes by any batter in an under-19 innings with 14 maximums. Moreover, he also scripted the record for the second-highest score by an Indian batter in Youth ODIs, behind Ambati Rayudu’s 177 runs.
With his brilliant knock, India piled up a gigantic total of 433/6 in the first innings. Later, UAE succumbed to the mammoth chase, finishing off with 199/7 and losing by a huge margin of 234 runs.

In the post-match presentation, Suryavanshi was informed about overtaking Kohli as India’s most searched personality on Google searches. Responding to the same, he said that he doesn’t pay attention to these things.
“I don’t pay attention to these things. I keep the focus on my game. Yes, I do hear about these developments, and it does feel nice. I look at it, feel good about it and then move forward. That’s about it,” he said
Speaking about his stunning century in the clash, he added that he planned to bat as long as he could and had a good practice session ahead of the game.
“For me, it was all about preparation. We came a day early and had a really good practice session before the match, which helped a lot,” My plan was simple. I tried to bat as long as I could. Since the wicket was new, I spent the first ten balls just trying to read it properly, and once I understood the pace and bounce, I began to attack,” he further said.
Meanwhile, Suryavanshi was adjudged Player of the Match for his magnificent knock in the encounter. With his batting brilliance, India made a wonderful start to the tournament, where they are placed alongside Pakistan, UAE, and Malaysia in Group A.
