Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest player to make an IPL and T20 debut in IPL 2025.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, has begun preparing for the Indian Cricket Team‘s forthcoming U19 tour of England after garnering attention for his spectacular batting for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the just-finished Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Later this month, the India U-19 team will visit England to play the hosts in two junior tests and five young ODIs. On June 27, the first youth ODI will take place at Hove’s County Ground.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his IPL 2025 debut on April 19 in Jaipur against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), opening with a six off the first ball. Suryavanshi hit a century off 35 balls in RR’s tenth league game against Gujarat Titans (GT) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on April 28. This enabled RR to reach the goal of 210 runs in 15.5 overs.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed the record for the fastest Indian hitter to score an IPL century and became the youngest batter in history (14 years, 31 days) to reach the 100-run milestone in just 35 balls. In that match, the young batter hammered 11 sixes, which helped him equal the record of hitting the most sixes in an IPL match by an Indian batter.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s huge sixes in NCA camp go viral

Ayush Mhatre, a 17-year-old Mumbai batter, will captain the India U-19 squad. He and Suryavanshi are expected to open the innings for India U19.

Ahead of the month-long tour, Suryavanshi, who earned the IPL 2025 Superstriker of the Season award for scoring 252 runs at a strike rate of 206.55 in seven games for the RR, has begun his preparations.

The left-handed batter can be seen blasting tall sixes during the NCA U19 camp in Bengaluru in a video that has gone viral online.

Vaibhav was brutal at all costs and spared no detail, as can be seen in the video that a user shared on the social media site X (previously Twitter). In between, the bowlers attempted off-pace deliveries as well, but the batter consistently hit them hard, sometimes offside and other times leg side.

Here is the video:

During their England tour, the India U-19 squad will play two Youth tests and five Youth ODIs, and Vaibhav appears keen to build on an incredible IPL 2025 and leave his mark.
