Former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad has taken it to twitter to criticize Indian selectors for leaving out Jalaj Saxena.

Former Indian pace bowler Venkatesh Prasad has slammed the selectors for not picking up Jalaj Saxena in the Duleep Trophy squad from South Zone. Despite having a great Rannji season for Kerala, Jalaj was snubbed. Venkatesh Prasad made a scathing attack by saying ‘funny things going on’ in Indian Cricket. He also called Jalaj Saxena’s omission from the team South Zone as ‘baffling’.

Jalaj Saxena was the leading wicket-taker in the Ranji Trophy season 2022-23. He picked up 50 wickets in 8 games for Kerala and bowled a magnificent spell of 36/8 against Services in the tournament. Earlier Jalaj also raised questions on the selection process for Duleep Trophy.

Raising objections, Venkatesh Prasad said, “There are many laughable things happening in Indian cricket. The Highest wicket-taker in Ranji Trophy not being picked even for the South Zone team is as baffling as it gets. Just renders the Ranji Trophy useless… what a shame”.

Just wanted to know. Not blaming anyone”. Jalaj has been a consistent performer in Indian domestic cricket.
