The seventh round of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 took place on Tuesday, January 8. A total of 16 high-profile matches were played in Round 7 at different venues across the nation as Vidarbha, Baroda, and Tripura secured major victories.

Batters like Narayan Jagadeesan, Sridam Paul, Rajat Dey, and Vishvaraj Jadeja showed their prowess by scoring centuries. Auqib Nabi, who came to bat while his team was 78/6, played a top-notch 114-run unbeaten knock to help Jammu and Kashmir defeat Hyderabad.

In addition to the innings, Nabi also picked up three crucial wickets. In bowling, Jharkhand’s Sushant Mishra was one of the top stars of the round as he picked up six wickets, leaking 52 during Jharkhand’s 197-run loss to Tripura.

Sarfaraz Khan smashed a quickfire half-century for Mumbai while chasing a target of 216 against Punjab. However, Gurnoor Brar and Mayank Markande both picked up four wickets each to help Punjab record a close victory by only one run over Mumbai.

After Round 7, Karnataka are at the top of Group A, while Uttar Pradesh is first in Group B. Punjab created a four-point lead over Mumbai in the first position in Group C, while Delhi topped Group D with 24 points.

Karnataka’s Devdutt Padikkal is currently leading the pack of highest run-getters in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. Padikkal leapfrogged Aman Mokhade after being behind in Round 6.

Only Padikkal and Mokhade have crossed the 600-run mark in the trophy. Himachal Pradesh’s Pukhraj Mann is third, followed by Dhruv Jurel and Aryan Juyal in the fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
