Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli suffered a heart attack in 2013.

The cricketing world was left shocked when a disturbing video of former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli went viral on social media. In the video, Kambli was seen to be struggling to even stand and walk properly and needed help.

This led to the fans showing concern about his health. However, Kambli has now confirmed that the viral video was from a long time ago and his health is much better now.

A few days ago, a viral video of Kambli was shared across all social media handles. In that video, the former Indian cricketer was seen in a vulnerable state. The viral video also showed that Kambli was unable to walk and requested help from passerby.

The former Indian batsman has had health issues for a long time. Kambli suffered a heart attack in 2013, after undergoing an angioplasty in 2012, which was done to address blockages in two of his arteries.

I am fine, don’t believe social media: Vinod Kambli to Marcus

As the video went viral, it led his friends to check up on Kambli. According to a recent report in the Hindustan Times, the former Indian cricketer spent five hours with the Couto brothers (Ricky Couto and Marcus Couto) on Thursday afternoon.

His school classmate Ricky and first-class umpire Marcus had a word with Kambli regarding his health. According to the reports, Kambli said them, “I am fine, don’t believe social media.”

“He was in jolly mood when we met him. He is recovering well and is in much better condition. The video being circulated is outdated. He doesn’t have belly fat and eats his food well. The entire family was present and enjoying each other’s company. His son, Cristiano, also a left-hand batter like his father, was taking batting tips from his father,” said Marcus.

The Hindustan Times report further added that the 52-year-old Kambli has talked to several of his friends, including former teammates Abey Kuruvilla and Ajinkya Naik.
