EXCLUSIVE: Virat Kohli will score over 100 centuries, predicts Wasim Jaffer

Virat Kohli holds the record for scoring most ODI centuries.

After a disastrous run in red-ball cricket, Virat Kohli finally returned to form with a match-winning century against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on February 23 in Dubai.

Kohli’s unbeaten 100 off 111 balls guided India past Pakistan’s 241-run total to a comfortable six-wicket victory. The innings was not only crucial in the context of the tournament, but also took Virat to 82 international hundreds, leaving him 18 behind Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 100 international tons.

Amidst all this, former India opener Wasim Jaffer has shared his views on Kohli’s form and given his prediction on whether he can score 100 international centuries.

In an exclusive interview with Khel Now on the sidelines of launch of India Corporate T20 Bash, Wasim Jaffer predicted that Virat Kohli will score 100 centuries in international cricket.

The former India opener discussed Virat’s recent form, highlighting that his failures shock everyone due to his remarkable consistency throughout his career.

Jaffer said, “He was struggling with form, and considering the fan following he has, it’s obvious that when he fails, we all feel sad. And because he has made a habit of scoring big runs, whenever he fails, we think, “Oh, what really happened?” It was the same emotion with Sachin Tendulkar.“

When asked if he believes the star batter can reach 100 centuries in international cricket, he expressed optimism, stating that whenever Virat scores runs, he does so consistently.

He added, “Now, he has 82 centuries in international cricket. He is not far from the 100-ton mark, and I hope he maintains this form and we see him score 100 centuries. Obviously, I hope so (if he can reach the milestone) whenever he scores runs, he does so consistently.“

Given Virat’s excellent form, Indian fans will expect the veteran batsman to deliver against Australia in the semi-final clash of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
