Indian batsman Virat Kohli attended the global premiere of his sports and lifestyle brand One8 Global in New Delhi on Sunday, June 21. The star-studded event was attended by several celebrities, including musicians, social media influencers, and cricketers, and around 5000 people gathered at the venue.

Cricketers like Jitesh Sharma, Prasidh Krishna, and Pratika Rawal were also present at the brand launch. Moreover, Punjabi musician Karan Aujla performed at the event.

5. Virat Kohli struggles during photo session with Karan Aujla

Kohli and singer Karan Aujla posed for a photo session during the event. The photographer gave them some instructions for different poses in front of the camera. However, Kohli struggled with it and looked to the Punjabi singer to copy his poses.

The ace batter made a hilarious remark that he was a cricketer and not an expert at clicking photos. Reacting at the moment, Kohli said, “Main to cricket khelta hoon. (I play cricket)”. His hilarious comment made everyone laugh.

4. Kohli relives his knock against Pakistan in T20 WC 2022

The former Indian captain played a match-winning knock against Pakistan during the group stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

After India lost four wickets in the powerplay during a tricky 160-run chase, Kohli hammered an unbeaten 82 runs off 52 balls to drive India to a memorable victory in Melbourne. His knock under pressure is still considered the best by an Indian batter against Pakistan in T20Is.

When Virat was questioned about his mindset in that game by host Danish Sait, he said, “I am made this way. I almost crave situations where people feel like it’s gone, and then somehow you can manage to pull the game back”.

“That’s just how I look at the situations, from a very young age, and I’ve never stopped believing right till the very end that the game is lost or we can’t win. And some magical things have happened,” he added.

Notably, his crucial six against Harif Rauf in the penultimate over became the talk of the town and was later labelled as ICC’s Shot of the Century.

3. Virat Kohli’s bombshell on return to test cricket

During the show, Kohli was asked if he wished to return to Test cricket. The host showed him his brand shoes priced at ₹9,230 (matching the total number of runs he has scored in Tests) and asked if he would consider returning to Test cricket so the shoe price could be raised.

Responding to the question, Kohli said he will never reverse his Test retirement.

“No Thanks. I’d rather undersell. I’m done with it,” Kohli stated.

Notably, Kohli announced his retirement from Tests in May 2025 after playing 123 matches for India. He scored 9,230 runs in 210 innings with 30 centuries.

Kohli made a grand entry on the stage during the event, sending the crowd into a frenzy. A trailer of his Test career was shown on the screen, and after it ended, Kohli came onto the stage.

His entry after the cinematic masterpiece sent goosebumps among fans present at the venue, and they cheered loudly to welcome the Indian batting legend.

Towards the end of his performance, Karan Aujla welcomed Kohli on the stage and presented a song dedicated to him. He sang his superhit song ‘Winning Speech’, with Kohli vibing on its lyrics on the stage. Watching both celebrities together, the crowd erupted in joy.
