IPL 2023: Virat Kohli breaks Chris Gayle's record of most centuries in IPL with 7th ton

Virat Kohli has also become the 3rd batter to score back-to-back centuries in the IPL.

Royal Challengers Bangalore opener Virat Kohli has broken Chris Gayle’s record in the Indian Premier League. Virat Kohli smashed his 7th Indian Premier League century and created history. Virat Kohli now holds the record for scoring most centuries in the IPL. He has overtaken Chris Gayle’s 6 centuries record. Gayle smashed 6 IPL hundreds in his 142 innings. Virat equaled Chris Gayle’s 6th-century record just a game before against Sunrisers Hyderabad and now he has become a batter with most hundreds in the league. Virat Kohli has been a consistent performer for RCB in the IPL 2023 along with captain Faf du Plessis.

Apart from scoring most 100s, Virat has also touched a few milestones in his career with this extraordinary innings against Gujarat Titans. Chris Gayle is leading the chart for scoring the most number of T20 centuries with 22. Virat is now joint 3rd with 3 Aussies Michael Klinger, David Warner, and Aaron Finch who also have scored 8 T20 100s. Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam is 2nd with 9 hundred.
