Many Indian players recently underwent fitness tests at the Board of Control for India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. Senior players like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj were among those who were present during the fitness drills.
While almost every Indian player was present at the BCCI’s COE, there were a lot of speculations about Virat Kohli, who stays in London. However, according to reports by Dainik Jagran, he received special treatment from the BCCI as his fitness test was conducted in London itself. The fitness tests focused on recovery patterns and basic strength tests of players.
Notably, Kohli announced his retirement from test cricket in May. The right-handed batsman is only active in the 50-over format and will next play for the team in the ODI series against Australia in October. The Men in Blue will tour Australia for a three-match ODI series and five-match T20I series. Kohli is undergoing practice in London to prepare for the ODIs.
