Virat Kohli has rejoined the Indian camp ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 opening match.
Former India captain Virat Kohli had flown back to Mumbai from Guwahati for personal reasons ahead of the second ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 warm-up match between India and Netherlands on October 3, 2023.
He, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sources, had received permission from the board and team management to attend to a personal matter in Mumbai. The personal matter has not been disclosed yet.
As reported by Cricbuzz over the past few days, Kohli left the team and flew to Mumbai from Guwahati, where India had been scheduled to play their first practice game against England. Unfortunately, that game was canceled due to rain.
Had it occurred, Kohli would not have played in the second warm-up game against the Netherlands at Thiruvananthapuram's Greenfield International Stadium. However, bad weather forced the game to be called off.
