Virat Kohli promises to end feud with Gautam Gambhir for good of Indian cricket - Reports

Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir had reportedly buried their feud during IPL 2024.
Virat Kohli has reportedly confirmed to the BCCI that he is ready to end his feud with Gautam Gambhir for the betterment of the Indian cricket team. This comes after Gambhir took over as Indian team head coach and Kohli was named in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour.
India are slated to play three ODIs and three T20Is in Sri Lanka. Senior cricketers Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah were rumored to skip the tour. However, new head coach Gautam Gambhir informed the BCCI selectors that since this was his first assignment as India’s head coach, he wanted the seniors to play the ODIs in Sri Lanka.
Rohit, Kohli, and Bumrah were on a break after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 win, but Gambhir explained that the seniors will have a six-week break after the Sri Lanka tour as well. This led to Rohit Sharma and Kohli agreeing to play in Sri Lanka ODIs, while Bumrah was asked to continue his rest with complete consensus.
Virat Kohli tells BCCI he’s comfortable working with Gautam Gambhir
Both Kohli and Rohit took Gambhir’s move positively and made themselves available for the ODI series against Sri Lanka, which will begin on August 2. Rohit Sharma will captain the Indian team.
Also, Virat Kohli conveyed to the BCCI that he has no issues working with Gautam Gambhir and is ready to put past clashes behind him for the betterment of Indian cricket.
“Kohli is comfortable working with Gambhir and has communicated this clearly to the relevant BCCI officials. Despite their history, marked by a bitter confrontation captured by cameras during IPL games in the past, Kohli is believed to have stated that previous issues will not affect their professional relationship in the dressing room. Following the World Cup final in Barbados, discussions were reportedly held on the matter. Kohli, who, like Gambhir, is from Delhi, assured the concerned parties that he recognizes both are working towards the country’s interests and is ready to move on from earlier disagreements,” Cricbuzz report stated.’
Notably, during IPL 2024, both Gambhir and Kohli made genuine attempts to bury the hatchet. During the KKR vs RCB matches, they were seen sharing fun moments.
