Virat Kohli was fielding while Shikhar Dhawan’s doppelganger was shown on the big screen.

Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan are now competing for their respective sides in the ongoing IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Both star batters are good friends, and their friendship has a lengthy history. Before breaking into international cricket, they played together for Delhi. For nearly a decade, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan were an integral part of the Indian side.

The match saw RCB captain Faf du Plessis win the toss and choose to bowl. PBKS made a rough start, losing opener Jonny Bairstow (8) early. However, Bairstow’s opening partner Dhawan stabilized the innings with Prabhsimran Singh.

Dhawan scored 45 off 37 balls, including five fours and a six. Prabhsimran scored 25 runs in 17 deliveries, including two fours and two sixes.

Meanwhile, Sam Curran (23), Jitesh Sharma (27), and Shashank Singh (21*) made significant contributions as PBKS scored 176/6 in 20 overs. Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell each grabbed two wickets for RCB.

On Monday (March 25), Kohli couldn’t stop giggling after noticing Dhawan’s lookalike on the huge screen during the game, demonstrating their togetherness once more. Kohli only had to look at the screen to realize that the man resembled his good friend, and he couldn’t stop laughing.

The incident occurred during the 18th over, when Kohli was walking close to the boundary lines and raised his hand at someone in the spectators. It turned out to be a fan dressed in the PBKS jersey, who resembled Dhawan. When the former RCB captain saw the fan was a doppelganger rather than Dhawan, he burst out laughing.
