Virat Kohli said he made changes to his game after listening to Ravi Shastri in the past.

Veteran Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has finally broken his silence media calling former India head coach Ravi Shastri a ‘yes man.’ The Indian cricket team did pretty well under the Kohli-Shastri era. The former all-rounder Shastri served as the head coach from 2017 to 2021.

During the Kohli-Shastri era, India emerged as one of the strongest sides in test cricket. India became the first Asian team to win back-to-back test series on Australian soil (2018-19 and 2020-21). The Kohli-Shastri era saw India dominating test cricket, and they also ranked No. 1 side under them.

The Indian cricket team also emerged as runners-up of the ICC World Test Championship 2019-21 cycle under the duo.

Most bizarre thing i have ever heard: Virat Kohli

Ahead of the Australia tour in 2018, former Indian captain Virat Kohli was asked by reporters whether the then-head coach Ravi Shastri approved everything as a ‘yes man.’ This came after reports emerged that Kohli was satisfied with Shastri’s appointment in 2017 after his fall-out with Anil Kumble.

Recently, Kohli opined that he valued Shastri’s viewpoint and made a change to his batting approach. When the question was asked regarding Shastri being a ‘yes man,’ Kohli quickly responded that it was the most bizarre thing he had ever heard.

“About saying ‘yes’ all the time, that is the most bizarre thing I have heard. “I don’t think there’s anyone who has said no to me more than him in Indian cricket. Honestly, because he’s one guy I can speak to and get an honest opinion and he’ll tell me something that if it doesn’t need to be done, it doesn’t need to be done. I’ve made more changes to my game listening to him than anyone else in the past,” said Kohli as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
