Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) crushed Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday, June 3. They defeated PBKS by six runs to lift their first-ever IPL trophy. After the victory, Virat Kohli shared multiple photos with the trophy on social media.
After being asked to bat first, RCB piled up a decent total of 191/9 at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Kohli made a crucial contribution of 43 runs with the bat, hitting the most runs for the team. Later, Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar hunted two wickets each as RCB restricted PBKS to 184/7 to capture victory by a thin margin of six runs.
Celebrations began in the RCB dressing room after the victory as they won their first trophy in 18 years. Notably, RCB had reached the final on three occasions in the past, however, they couldn’t lay their hands on the trophy each time. However, they left no stones unturned to steal the title in the 2025 edition.

“This team made the dream possible, a season I’ll never ever forget. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the ride over the last 2.5 months. This one is for the fans of RCB who never ever left our side in the worst of times. This one is for all the years of heartbreaks and disappointment,” the right-handed batsman wrote.
“This is for every inch of effort left on the field playing for this team. As far as the IPL trophy is concerned- you’ve made me wait 18 years to be able to lift you and celebrate my friend, but it’s been absolutely worth the wait,” he further added.
