Virat Kohli has played two matches for Delhi in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 season so far against Andhra and Gujarat.
Virat Kohli was back to playing domestic cricket after the ODI series against South Africa, as the selectors wanted him to make use of the time before the ODI series against the New Zealand. Kohli played for Delhi and along with him, Rohit Sharma also played for Mumbai.
Kohli showed great form in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 as he scored a century against Andhra and followed it up with a half-century against Gujarat. The stint in the domestic tournament was watched by a lot of “Roko” fans from the stadiums. While Kohli played at the Centre of Excellence ground in Bengaluru, Rohit, who slammed 155 and 0, played at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur.
Kohli skipped Delhi’s third match against Saurashtra that began in Alur from December 29. He returned back to Mumbai and made himself unavailable for this match.

However, as per reports in Cricbuzz, Virat Kohli will be playing for Delhi in their next Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 match against Railways starting from January 6.
Reports in Cricbuzz further said that the India ODI team will assemble in Baroda on 7th January for the first ODI to be played at the BCA stadium in Kotambi on January 11.
The ODI series against New Zealand will mark the comebacks of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Rohit won the Player Of The Series award in the Australia ODI series, while Kohli won it against South Africa. Kohli finished 2025 with 651 runs from 13 matches with four fifties and two hundreds. He averaged 65.10 and had a strike rate of 96.16 throughout the year. After the first ODI in Baroda, the second will be played in Rajkot (January 14) and the third and final game in Indore (January 18).
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced India’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad and the same squad will be playing in the five-match T20I series against the Kiwis, starting from January 21. Shubman Gill was axed from the side, with Ishan Kishan and Rinku Singh making a comeback to the squad.
