A claim has surfaced that Kohli was paid ₹5 crore to visit Premanand Maharaj’s ashram in Vrindavan. Dinesh Sharma, known as Phalahari Maharaj, made this allegation.
Sharma, who is the president of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas, alleged that a Rajasthan-based private company or property-related group spent ₹5 crore to bring Kohli to the ashram and increase its popularity.

“We would like to categorically state that the claims made by Falahari Maharaj Dinesh Sharma in regard to Mr Virat Kohli are completely false, baseless and factually incorrect.”
