Virat Kohli stole the spotlight with his stellar leadership against PBKS in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli was at his furious best in the field during Qualifier 1 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh hosted the game between the two teams.
RCB stamped their authority over the PBKS in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2025. Opting to field first, the Rajat Patidar-led side was all over the opposition with the ball as likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood and Suyash Sharma brought their best with the ball.
While the RCB bowling lineup was spot-on with their lines and lengths, Virat Kohli stole the limelight with his brilliant leadership on the ground. The premier batter was seen passing on the inputs continuously to the bowlers, and it paid off incredibly well.
He came up with a brilliant plan to dismiss PBKS opener Priyansh Arya as he was seen signalling to Yash Dayal where to bowl and inviting the batsman to drive. The RCB pacer executed the plan brilliantly, and it happened exactly as Virat Kohli had planned.
Not only this, but even after this, Virat Kohli was seen sharing his inputs continuously. He was also making field placements, and bowlers complemented him brilliantly.

Coming to the match, RCB bundled out the PBKS for just 101 runs. The Shreyas Iyer-led side came up with a horrible batting effort. The shot selection was pretty poor as they played aggressive shots without understanding the game situation.
Marcus Stoinis was the top run-getter for PBKS. He scored 26 runs off 17 balls while the rest of the batters failed to go past the 20-run mark. Azmatullah Omarzai and Prabhsimran Singh were the joint second-highest run-getters with an 18-run knock each.
For RCB, Josh Hazlewood and Suyash Sharma bagged three wickets each. Yash Dayal picked two scalps while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Romario Shepherd contributed one wicket each.
