Virat Kohli RULED OUT of ODIs against Afghanistan; BCCI names THIS young gun as replacement

Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the series due to hamstring injury.
Indian Cricket Team are locking horns in a one-off test against Afghanistan, which got underway today at MYS International Stadium in New Chandigarh. The encounter will be followed by three ODIs on June 13, 17, and 20.
Virat Kohli was earlier named in the ODI squad but now has been ruled out of the series due to a hamstring injury. Kohli recently played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Finishing as the leading run-scorer for the side, he played a crucial role in their title-winning campaign. He also hammered a match-winning half-century in the final to win the Player of the Match award. However, he also sustained a hamstring while batting in the encounter.
Kohli last played for India in the ODI series against New Zealand in January. With a century and a half-century, he gave a fabulous performance in the campaign.
Yashasvi Jaiswal replaces Virat Kohli in India’s ODI squad against Afghanistan

Yashasvi Jaiswal has replaced Kohli in India’s ODI squad against Afghanistan. Speaking to reporters, head of selectors Ajit Agarkar said:
“Regarding Virat, we know the timeline yet. But looks like he could be available for the ODI series in England. Yashasvi Jaiswal will replace Virat Kohli for the three ODIs against Afghanistan.”
Jaiswal has made a comeback to the ODI squad after missing the previous campaign against New Zealand in January. The left-handed batsman has played four ODIs so far, scoring 171 runs at an average of 57.0.
He last featured in the ODI series against South Africa in December last year, where he also slammed his maiden century. Jaiswal is part of the ongoing one-off test against Afghanistan. He got out cheaply for 24 runs in the first innings.
