VHT 2025-26: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma confirm their availability, Rishabh Pant set to captain Delhi

Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have confirmed their participation in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.
Indian Cricket Team batters Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant are all set to play for Delhi in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) released an official statement, saying that both the Indian stalwarts have confirmed their participation for the domestic one-day tournament. Moreover, Rohit Sharma will play for Mumbai in the tournament.
DDCA also revealed that pacers Ishant Sharma and Navdeep Saini have also confirmed their availability for Delhi. Pant will captain Delhi in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, which will begin on December 24 (Wednesday).
Delhi are placed in Group D, and are scheduled to lock horns with Andhra in their opening game. The tournament will conclude on January 18 with the final, witnessing a battle between 32 domestic teams.

In an official statement, DDCA announced that Kohli and Pant have confirmed their participation in the tournament.
“The Committee finalised the Delhi Senior Men’s Team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the 2025-26 domestic season. The tournament is scheduled to commence on 24th December 2025 in Bengaluru. Mr. Rishabh Pant, Mr. Virat Kohli, Mr. Ishant Sharma, and Mr. Navdeep Saini have confirmed their availability and will be part of the team,” the official statement by DDCA read.
“Mr. Rishabh Pant is appointed as the captain of the team. Mr. Harshit Rana shall join the squad as and when he becomes available,” it further added.

Rohit Sharma to play for Mumbai in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26

Moreover, Rohit Sharma is also scheduled to play for Mumbai in Vijay Hazare Trophy. The former Indian captain will feature in two games for the side. Mumbai are placed in Group C and will start their journey in the tournament with a clash against Sikkim on December 24.

Meanwhile, in the ODI series against South Africa earlier this month, Kohli won the Player of the Series award, hammering two centuries and one fifty across three matches. Rohit also gave an impressive performance, storming two half-centuries. In the prior ODI series against Australia in October, the right-handed batter stole the Player of the Series award with a ton and a fifty across three matches.
Speaking about Pant, he captained India in the test series against South Africa last month after Shubman Gill was ruled out due to a neck injury. India faced a humiliating whitewash in the two-match series.
